Terms and Conditions
Tournament Structure
The tournament will consist of two Flights on Friday and Saturday with Sunday consisting of all players who have not been eliminated from the tournament.
- All participants of Flight One, Flight Two will finish play at the same level.
- The value of tournament chips held by an entrant at the end of a Flight will be the value of tournament chips that the entrant will commence play with on Day Two of the tournament.
- Alternate players (reserve players who are waiting on a seat to become available through the elimination of player/s) must be seated prior to the conclusion of the first four levels and are entitled to a full starting stack of tournament chips with a value of $20,000.
- The Tournament Director/Assistant will move players to facilitate the balancing and /or breaking of tables to ensure the efficient running of the tournament.
- Tables will be balanced in order to maximise the number of players and to regulate approximate even numbers of players on each table as player and table numbers reduce.
- The method of balancing tables will be: a player who is closest to the left of the big blind on a table with more players will fill the seat closest to the left of the big blind on a table with fewer players in order to even out player numbers.
- As players are eliminated (lose all their chips) from the tournament, the Tournament Director/Assistant will break tables from play in order to maximise the number of players at each table.
- Tables will be broken in a pre-set order, with those players being assigned to empty seats at other tables as needed to ensure reasonable balancing.
- Players seated on the new table assume all responsibilities of that position and shall be dealt in immediately. The only variation to this shall be if a new player to a table takes a position between the small blind and the button, in this case they must wait until the button has passed.
- The final table shall consist of 9 players and will be played until there is only one player remaining. That player shall be declared the overall tournament winner.
Tournament chips
- Each player will receive $20,000 in non-value tournament chips
- The order of wagering will be in accordance with Casino Canberra Poker Rules.
- Any player removing tournament chips from the table will be disqualified from the tournament and excluded from any further tournaments at Casino Canberra.
Allocation of wagering areas
- Prior to the commencement of each tournament, a manual or electronic system will be used to allocate wagering/seat positions. The Tournament Director/ Assistant will select a player and draw a numbered card. The selected player will be allocated the table and seat position drawn.
Time Restriction
- The Tournament Director/Assistant may impose a time restriction on any player deemed to be taking too long to make a decision.
- On being advised by the Tournament Director/Assistant that the time limit is being imposed the player shall then be given 60 seconds to make and act on their decision. A player who fails to make a decision within the 60-second time limit will be required to fold their hand.
Entry and Buy-in
- The cost of participating in the tournament is $1,100 comprising a $100 pre-paid commission, $1,000 for tournament prize pool.
- Alternates may be entered into the tournament during the first four levels only.
- Players must register at the Poker Buy-in desk and complete an entry form. All fees must be paid for at the Poker Buy-in desk at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of the tournament. Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the Tournament Director/Assistant.
- Casino Canberra Management reserve the right to cancel the tournament and will in this event refund all entry fees to players. Entrants must cancel their entry to the tournament prior to the commencement of their Flight to have all their entry fees refunded. Alternate players who do not gain a seat in the tournament will have their entry fees refunded.
- In the event that a player has not taken their seat by the second level of play that player may be disqualified and their remaining chips will be removed from play.
- Players may only purchase one entry into the National Poker Tournament 2012.
